Municipal Supply & Sign Co. is the stocking Florida distributor for Nucor Steel Marion Inc.'s complete line of Rib-Bak™ u-channel posts and breakaway systems. We maintain a large inventory of both galvanized and green u-channel posts, as well as the Lap-Splice™ and Slip-Safe™ breakaway systems which are engineered specifically for the Rib-Bak™. All Nucor Steel products are NCHRP-350 Approved.
The Rib-Bak™ is the strongest u-channel available
on the market today. It is produced from new-billet steel with a minimum tensile
strength of 80,000 psi, and a minimum yield strength of 100,000 psi. New-billet
steel is produced from 100% recycled scrap steel. Other u-channel is produced
from re-rolled railroad rails with only 60,000 psi minimum tensile and 80,000
psi minimum yield. The Rib-Bak™ u-channel offers 25% greater strength and windload
capacity, while its higher carbon content gives you the breakaway characteristics
you need.

Posts to 4 lbs. Any size SP-80 U-channel post. 2 special bolts & spacers
join base post to top post. The Lap-Splice™ sign post breakaway
system for U-Channel posts is well suited for areas that experience repeated
impact of the sign structures. Lap-Splice is a ground-level spliced system.
A
base post is
easily driven
from ground level. After the sign panel is attached to the top post, it
is then connected to the base post. Installation is quick and easy.

posts are a great replacement for those old wooden 4x4's
that rot and need to be painted every few years. This sign post is made
from 100% recycled plastic and will last almost 50 years! With a paint
resistant material and color that is the same through the entire cross
section, these composite posts are easy to maintain and require no painting.
We have a number of versions and colors available. Please talk with one
